The Royal Palm School is part of the Washington School District in Arizona.  It is in the process of implementing a new network.  This case study of the Royal Palm School explains how the school's Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) should be installed for optimal performance and flexibility.  This presentation shows what networking equipment we have chosen to use and it gives their specifications.  It also provides a list of IP addressing schemes that we have chosen to use for the Royal Palm network.

Network Purpose

  • The Royal Palm School network will provide an enterprise-wide connectivity through the use of a WAN and LAN.

  • The network will provide access to the Internet and data servers.

  • It will include appropriate security measures, such as  firewalls, so that the administrative data is secure.

  • The Royal Palm School network will implement a substantial amount of redundancy and backup.  This will allow for increased stability and future usefulness.
