Graphics

The hardest part of this game is going to be the graphics. Since the game will be in real time 3D, we will not need to have state of the art graphics. However, the whole island as well as the Atlantian civilization will have to be realized. We could use Blender 3D to create the 3D models and export them to DirectX’s 3D format (.x) through Blender’s .x file exporter. Some custom work may have to be done on this exporter to achieve the necessary results. The hardest 3D model to create will be the devote leader, who will need to be able to speak.

Programming

The game will be developed using C# and Managed DirectX 1.1. Using both of these technologies should make the programming move fairly rapidly. The interface will be mostly point and click, like traditional Myst games, and should be easy to implement. Some of the puzzles may require more extensive programming work.

Voice Acting

This game will hopefully include voice acting. There will be two main voices needed – the missionary (you) will speak at points in the game to further the story, and the devote spiritual leader. When dealing with the journals and records left behind the Atlantians, either the missionary could read them out loud, or we could have the voices of the author reading the text.
